Nice for the price   This works well and I'm quite happy with it. It presents a tide table fir numerous local points.
It isn't obvious that green is for tides and yellow is for currents. But once you understand that then it makes sense.
A cosmetic frill that would be a nice add-on would be to show the tide chart graph when the iPhone is tilted on it's side. (it's sometimes nice to visually see the waveform.)
I appreciate the free applications like this. They took time for somebody to develop and then they just give them to others. That's a nice tjing. Thank you. - Tides review by Kovanen
Great Application and YES you can select location   It needs some modifications but so far this is what I need.... Thanks - Tides review by Sainttt
note to developer   Check out "Tidetool" in Palm OS. No need for internet connection, because the algorithms do the work faster. This program should be listed as "Not Ready for Distribution." - Tides review by liveaboard
Great Start - could later be fantastic for surfers   This is a fabulous idea. However, you cannot yet search for specific cities. Instead, it bases tide data off of your current location. If you could choose different cities and save them in a list (like the weather widget on the iphone), this would be a great app for surfers. Great app, but I'm truly hoping for an improved update. - Tides review by nycbob
tides   i think this app COULD be more useful if the developeper would let you input a location you want to keep tabs on, not specifically where you are right now. example if i want to know fort myers beach tide times i can input that. - Tides review by Bubbagumps comments
Works great except some text is unreadable   I have a brand new iPhone3G running latest firmware update and although Tide appears to work great, locating tidal info closest to me, the details within the text listing of tide times appears to overlap itself on each line so the word "High Tide", "Low Tide", "Sunrise", "Sunset" cannot be read because the text "GMT +02" is overlayed. I am wondering if its because I am running iphone3G in english but with settings for France? Can you change font/text size? Any expectations for a fix? I'd gladly pay for this app if this gets fixed!. - Tides review by Phil64600
Good   Ok. I used the "current location" feature and it instantly found the tide and current for what I wanted. I only wish it graphed - otherwise it worked great. - Tides review by no2narcosis
Great concept   Great bas for an app, just needs some small fixes to be great. I fish....alot (at least alot more than my lady likes) and this is a great app for checking the tides. Biggest issue that holds this back (as others stated) is setting locations for tides/currents. I would also suggest as a possible "later down the road upgrade" to maybe add solar/lunar data as it affects tides/current also. This being a free app......thanks goes to the developer! - Tides review by gizmo415
Useful App. Some comments.   About 1/2 the lauches appear to be hung getting data for the location. Force quitting required. ! instance of redraw issues (overlapping text).Location service seems provide accurate info, and the programs seems to find the closest tide reporting point. However, it has no relation to the currents reports. (Tide report was for Santa Barbara, CA, whereas the current report came up as Washington State.). Either the location didn't get passes from the first lookup (for tides), or it's missing it's own query for location.Once every things up and runnning, it gives the data in a reasonably readable fasion. It could use a bit more "shiny, candylike" design elements, but as a utilitarian too it seems to do the job. Adding tidal graphs might a nice freature to add in a later update. - Tides review by PriRmentndo
Almost there   I agree with most people that when you can enter your location this application will be a winner. One feature that I did not see commented on was that it allows you to see current info as well. - Tides review by RatherBeSailing
Good idea, but needs work   You need to be able to enter a list of locations you'd like to keeps tabs on, similar to the way the weather application works. - Tides review by Punter16
Change Location?   I cannot find a way to change the location from Washington State. Is that the only place information is available for this app? I need Los Angeles. - Tides review by Word Maven
Works well   A nice, useful application that does what they say it will do. - Tides review by UMPlace
Maybe I'm missing something....   All I can get it to show are two locations in Washington state. I'm in So Cal, although not on the water, and it returns the same locations a 1000 miles away whether I let it use location data or not. The search function doesn't work at all. - Tides review by HLJ3
Great start   This could really be great if some of the suggestions mentioned earlier (pick locations, dates/times etc) are added. But it will be useful now (dont have to keep multiple copies of the Fishing Planner around!) When I first installed, there was some issue getting the location correct, but it finally figured it out. The times for high and low tides is correct, but the tide levels are not. When I checked this out on the web site the app pulls the data from, there are two tide stations listed, and the first one is showing the wrong tides. So I guess the issue is there versus the app. This could really be a killer app... Great idea. - Tides review by Fishing in ICW
Why the negative comments   Program works well. Complainers should write their own applications. - Tides review by WMSA
Inland? Out of Luck   This app needs to be designed not to think that it's smarter than I am. If you want to have it give tidal information for where I am, that's fine and actually kinda awesome. But if I'm inland I get nothing. So I can't use it for planning a trip, or relaying info to give a friend a heads-up on what's going on. Take a hint from the tide widget and let me specify my own favorite spot(s). - Tides review by ratnix
Seems to work   It did not hang, and seems to work fine under automatic mode. However, in "search", I could not find Puerto Rico. If there's no data for PR, it will be removed from my iPhone. - Tides review by GringoM
Can't Change the Location   It COULD be a good app, but without the ability to change the location to a Lat/Long or from a list of locations, it's useless to me. I suspect that it works fine with the iPhone and the built-in GPS, but with an iTouch it keeps going to a web site to find locations. Unfortunately, there is no wireless coverage on the water! I'd give it zero stars, but Apple won't let me. Good thing it's free. With a little work like adding the ability to add a Lat/Long and to save locations, Tides could be very useful and rate more stars. Sorry. - Tides review by SSTiman
Surfers will love this!   Loving this app, up and down the coast we go, the tide I will always know! Hawaii? Ha! AWAY WE GO! - Tides review by darinrmcclure
