CompassApp - Greenality Limited
Compass App is a GPS-based compass application that pictorially displays the direction you are travelling.
It has been developed for the iPhone 3G as this has a GPS chipset built into the device.
It may take a few seconds for the application to locate you. When it does, it will give you your Latitude and Longitude values, speed in km/hour or miles per hour and also the angle at which you are travelling.
Note that for this application to work properly, you should be travelling faster than walking speed.
You can now make your own compass from one of your pictures or using your iPhone camera.
Take a picture with your camera or choose from your photo gallery, then resize and move into the compass area.
Your compass image will be stored in your photo gallery. Email your compass to compassapp@googlemail.com and we'll showcase some of the best ones on our iTunes App Store listing.
The application is a showcase for some of the things we can do on the iPhone. Please report any bugs to us and we'll fix them. 2008 Greenality Ltd

Review of Application I thought the compas app was disappointing. I assumed that the compas would actually rotate like a compass and show the direction it was facinging (N, S, E, W). However, it did not do anything. It does illustrate the lattitude and longitude but not the direction. I will be deleting this app from my phone.

Unusable I wasn't able to properly use this application during my multiple tests. When comparing what the application says with a real compass it was almost always wrong. It doesn't adjust when turning the iPhone in many directions. I don't recommend this app.

It's a great app Whats wrong with u people this app works just fine if u no how to use it. I mean come do I have to hold your hand or something.
1. Turn on app.
2. Start moving.
2.5. Make sure u have a signal.
2.6. Be outside.
3. Use compass to travel in disired direction.
U don't have to be going faster then walking u
Just have to be OUTSIDE. The app still isn't worth paying for so get it now while it's FREE. If u don't want wasted space take it off u can get it back for free any time u want after that. It's better to have this app and not need it then to need it and not have it.

worthless -- thought it was the one on the iphone commercial - it wasn't doesn't move when you change direction. all it seems to do was show you the coordinates of where you are currently located.deleted it within 5 mins.

It's a great app 1st of all to the people who say it's stupid it's not all u have to do is hold the phone OUTSIDE and be MOVING so that the satilite can pick up the phones position and tell u which way your going. If u need to know your direction WITHOUT I suggest getting a REAL compass.

Works the way a compass should It's mph is only off by 1-2 mph. Which is insanely good considering what's being asked of it. The compass is dead on. It matches up with any compass you would buy in a store. It's a great application!

Useless app Ok first lets look at the words "As long as you are traveling faster then walking speed" UHH? if you are doing this then you better have both hands on the steering wheel. Or bike handles. And if your not driving then let the driver know where they are going. My D/L of this app just sat on the screen never moved. And yes I was sitting on the train going 55mph. So I guess I need to own a rocket ship
