Beacon will point you back to wherever you drop a beacon. Made after losing my car in a parking lot for the 800th time.
When you park, load up Beacon and hit the giant "DROP BEACON" button. Then, when you want to find your car again, just load Beacon again and follow the arrow straight to your car. Couldn't be any easier!
Beacon will automatically adjust to your direction of travel, so the arrow will always point exactly where you need to go. BUT---it will only do so once the GPS accuracy is good. This may take a few minutes! Wait until the accuracy is less than 50 metres.
Please note that I have absolutely no control over the accuracy of the GPS receiver. That is handled 100% by the phone itself. If you find the accuracy is poor, leave it be for a minute and it'll get better and better. If you find it's too inaccurate, get a bigger car. It's a cell phone, with like eight antennas!
Soon you'll be able to switch between metric and American units. For now, just use the fact that 1 metre = 1 yard (3 feet).
What makes Beacon different from other find-my-car apps: • Beacon is free • No need to wait for Google Maps to load, or an animated boot sequence. Designed to be useful when it's -50 out (you're adorable, Canada) • Flashy graphics make you look cool • Valid medical cure for acne(*)
(*) Not a valid medical cure for acne

Great concept   Poor delivery... It just doesn't work. But it's free so I can't complain. I deleted it as fast as I downloaded it.

Does this actually work?   I've traveled all over the US and I can never actually place a Beacon. Does this application work for anyone in the US?

A good idea, but...   This app sounds like a great idea. The accuracy does need to be improved. Also, don't you need a WiFi connection for the GPS on iPhones to work? This app certainly wouldn't help if you were lost in the middle of nowhere. I'll keep this in case I ever need it.

Not Bad   I like the idea of this app. It works as advertised. The only problem, and this is a problem with iPhone GPS in general, is it does not know which way you're facing, so the arrow points in the right direction only when you are facing north.

It won't work   It says it would like to use my current location, and if I say yes the beacon points 2 km north, and if I say no it will just ask me and keep asking me so it doesn't even work.

Useless   I don't know what these other people are talking about. Not much instructions to a one button app, must be his friends. I thought it was a fun idea but it needs work. Has potential and could make him money one day. Suggest multiple beacon drop points and stupid proof beacon dot on radar, if your just making an arrow, get rid of the radar all together.
