NYC Subway Map - Gotham Wave Games
Visiting the Big Apple? Long time New Yorker on an errand to an unfamiliar part of town?
This simple, handy, and FREE app lets you scroll around a detailed map of the New York City subway system, including all five boroughs. You can double-tap to zoom out for an overview. That's it. The map is saved on your device, so you do not need an Internet connection to view it.
It's not nearly as fancy as some of the paid subway map apps out there, but it's free, fast-loading and very convenient when you are stuck underground with no reception on an unfamiliar line and can't or don't want to make your way over to the map seat to check which stop your connection is at.
Enjoy, and please don't complain that it doesn't make toast - it's just a map.

Excellent app. Period.   Free, high quality and fast loading. I know it's free, but I would love to have station information for us real out of towners. Excellent. - NYC Subway Map review by XeosX
Great App   This is terrific and really useful. Shows all the lines and you can zoom in for detail. It's great and free! - NYC Subway Map review by ssmotown
Does the job... and free is good!   2-24-09I like this better than the official map because it's clean and uncluttered, more like the KICKMap than the official MTA map. Just be aware that it's not geographically precise -- someone entirely ignorant of the city would believe that Central Park is nearly a square. For this reason, it's not the ideal map for a tourist, but it's perfect for a resident or frequent visitor who has a grasp of the general geography of the city and just needs a reference for which line stops where.Good:- the map covers the entire system - routes of the same color are printed in different patterned lines, which makes them easy to follow.- the stations with transfers are marked clearly.- it includes the JFK Airtrain, with numbered stops for each terminal- I like the effect used on the water areas of the map!- I like the nostalgic token used as the iconCould be better:- There are only two zoom levels: full system, and a view that's maybe 3/4 mile wide (although that's hard to say, since, again, it's not meant to be geographically precise). I'd like one or two levels in between -- no, wait, what I'd really like is pinch-zooming.- the map legend indicates rush hour/off-peak markings for the map, but local/express markings are not apparent. - NYC Subway Map review by teaspoon926
Thank you so much   So many subway stations don't have maps so I spend time asking & often end up on wrong train. This is a VERY grateful user. - NYC Subway Map review by JakeBeast
Finally, a free NY subway map!   Thank you so much for this. I do feel sorry for others spending money on other map apps. The only thing it needs a "pinching" zoom function and that'll be all. - NYC Subway Map review by Wii-Man 3
Perfect!   This is exactly what I need and it didn't cost me a dime! It reminds me of those business card sized MTA maps, except it has all five boroughs. - NYC Subway Map review by mdenston7
Handy App for New Yorkers   This app is great! I can't believe others are charging like $4.99 for similar apps. Thank you Gotham Wave! - NYC Subway Map review by innovationaddict
