FINALLY! This app slays! Finally, a proper synth on the iPHONE. Any user of Beatmaker MUST have this as an addition to their portable studio. Intua (beatmaker) and Amidio absolutely have to have cross compatibility! Please make this happen. Imagine, you synthesize your hits here, then program them there. Then program melodies here, then continue layering over there! Hey Amidio! Hey Intua! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE work together to create a sampler/sequencer where we can develop full tracks, on-the-go, from both of these apps. Not impressed at all I hate to ruin this lovefest but how can this app have nothing but five star reviews?I'm used to using the excellent softsynths in Logic Studio (Sculpture,ES2,etc.). This synth doesn't approach that level of sound quality and to say it sounds as good as a hardware synth is really ridiculous. In fact, I'd say that a cheap Casio from Target sounds better than this.The interface is much too busy and non-intuitive and is a real pain to use.I think the problem is that the developer tried to make it something that it couldn't be, namely a full function emulation of a hardware synth, which is beyond the capability of the iPod touch/iPhone.I think that Eno's Bloom is a better concept for an iPod touch/iPhone because it works to the strengths of the device.I was really looking forward to Noise.io, but unfortunately it's a disappointment. - Noise.io™ Pro Synth review by Born to Synthesize
Very impressive Very promising. The sounds are extraordinary. This needs a full-blown sequencer though. There is talk of integration with Beatmaker, i.e. a sequencer. If that happens, this would be a must-have for anyone interested in making electronic music on the go. Initially I was a little frustrated with the lag when switching between one screen to the next, as well as figuring out the interface. I've since gotten used to the lag and the interface is actually quite brilliant once you do figure it out. (Advice: read the fine manual!) All in all, this app is markedly more polished than the vast majority of others in the App Store. Strange and Wonderful! This is a stunning piece of software. From the novice to the pro musician, Noise.io has something for everyone. I have spent hours sculpting and tweaking (completely crash free.) and I haven't even scratched the surface. There is so much to this application, but the UI is set up in such a way that exploration and discovery come almost effortlessly. The ability to assign just about any parameter to roll, tilt, multi-touch, etc. is great. If you want the best iPhone "Theremin" look no further than Noise.io, but that is just a small sampling of the capabilities. Don't even get me started about the sequencer.... Wow! Fantastic. Hasn't crashed once for me in the 20+ times I've opened it in the last day. Next, you honestly have to be sick in the head to think that Bloom beats this. First of all, even IF the comparison to a Casio synth were true, this costs even less than a Casio synth, and no, it doesn't sound as bad as one. Not even close. I own a Nord Lead, so I had a headstart in working with ioNoise. The sound quality is great, the features are many, and the potential for creativity is huge with this. $9.99 is a bargain. A must if you enjoy making techno music or if you're a fan of those 2001-era Dr. Dre style sounds that flooded the rap industry soon after. I just wish the sequencer was a little more full-blown instead of simply a step sequencer. I'd like to be able to record in real-time and play chords, as well. An amazing app! This is one impressive synth -- sounds better than a lot of hardware synthesizers currently on the market. Be warned, though, this is not a small app and it will require an occcassional reboot of the iPhone/Touch to work to its fullest potential. Amazing app... When I first read about the app I thought it seemed a little pricey. Now that I've played with it for a couple of days, I think it's a bargain. Beautifully done, lots of fun. The learning curve is a little steep (for me, anyway) but that's the price you pay for something this complex and versatile. Wow! It's been a long wait for this. I have only had a few hours to play with it and haven't begun to explore its complexity, but it's already way past my threshold for five stars. The range of sounds is amazing and the number of ways of playing and controlling it is fantastic. When they say it doesn't have knobs, don't believe them. It has lots of knobs - they just don't look like knobs! I love it, and I know synths I really love this app. Good job. I find myself playing with this app more than my Kaossilator. I have 30 years experience programming synths, my first was a moog which used patch cords, and I have owned every popular synth made since 1977. This Is a very powerful synth, but may take novices to analog basics some time to adjust to interface. I have had no problems, I like the waves, filters, ossillators and overall sounds. VERY FUN. I do wish the multi touch pad was a little more responsive like the kaospad and kaossilator. I would like to see the gate arp a little easier to use. I also would like to see more Rich sound presets. I hate to compare to Kaossilator, but this app is very close to exceeding the usefulness of the Kaossilator ( which is great). And at $190. Less !!!! Buy this app. Great web support, and hopefully the developer will base future updates on killing the Korg. Might be steep learning curve for novices, but sounds great, very fun, and I love it. Not as intuitive as I thought Now im no idiot and I've played with synths before like cubase and ableton and I thought this program for the iPhone would definitely be easier but I was seriously wrong. Although there is a huge ability to configure the samples to how you want, there is no ability to record, even though they have a button for record. I'm pissed that I spent ten dollars for this when I should have just spent 20 on beatmaker. That program seems much more suited for the iphone. I don't want to have to buy more gear to have fun with a program and record. Don't buy if you want replayability, just spur of the moment type boredom quenching finger pron. I'm out!

You say that a cheap Casio can out do the quality of this program, but can you find a $10 Casio that is portable? There is absolutely NO reason to give this program a low score. It's finally here! The musical function of the iPhone has just leaped bounds.
This is a true soft synth - unlike any other musical app for the iPhone so far.
I can spend hours just creating sounds with this thing. Then go off and perform them in the same program.
I have a feeling that one day one of the giants like Logic will step in and plow these smaller companies over but for now we have something very special to work with.
