Tired of all those weather apps that give completely inaccurate info from Russian/Chinese public servers? SAWS provides truly accurate weather info for SA, covering 7-day forecasts for over 100 towns (every distinct catchment area in SA), a rich set of over 1500 weather maps covering lightning strikes, temp, rainfall and even tracking of current storms across the country. Zoomable by country/province/region and covering today & tomorrow.
The app gives a month of unlimited access, but after this time a subscription is required to access maps and more detailed data.
At present SAWS is still bedding down their server-side data feeds. This causes the app to show blank spots at times. They are working closely with us to fix their bugs, and we are updating the app regularly to cater for unexpected data issues. Please bear with us as this is the first time SAWS have ever made their data available to developers, and they are very dependent on our feedback to them. We are going through this (minor) pain as we truly believe that their data is significantly more accurate than any other source in the world. Orsome Software Ltd

Not bad Really good to see some South African related apps being released for the iPhone. Weather ZA does a good job but there are a few minor glitches. It seems to not open on occasion or open briefly and then close. When checking the weather it will sometimes say "unregistered" next to each town even though my login details for WeatherZA are correct. The map page also doesn't seem to work. If you click on the overview type to change the chart it downloads it but doesn't change the display. If these bugs are sorted I'd move it up to a 4 star rating, add all the weather SA functionality and I would rate it a 5. I am running this app on a iPhone 3G with OS3
