Great way to find out about animal testing!   Only lately have I been aware about the products I use and how they harm the environment. This application takes the guesswork and research out of needing to know which products are environmentally sound. Very easy to use!

I don't trust this   The very fact that you have The Body Shop on the list of "safe" companies invalidates the authenticiy of the app for me. The Body Shop's animal testing policy and ethical business practices are VERY suspect. I have stopped shopping there and I will now stop using this app also.

Handy resource!   I always use the Leaping Bunny shopping guide when buying personal care and household products, because I know the companies listed have been through a stringent certification process. I'm excited there is an app now for my iPod touch because it will make shopping so much easier! I also like that this app includes many of the companies' logos for even easier brand recognition.

Okay but...   While I Iove the idea and effort so far, there are some big things still missing.
First, I agree completely that parent companies need to be considered. I do believe that choosing to support the cruelty-free product line in a company with both options is will help send those companies a message, but some of us would rather support companies that are 100% cruelty-free. Also, I feel it's important for people to have the full story in order to make those informed decisions.
Secondly, the site is lacking in many ways from a purely functional point of view...
1. Better descriptions and perhaps some photos for companies listed would be helpful.
2. More detailed info about each company's ethics seems important as well. For ex: some companies focus more on sustainability of product sourcing, some on fair trade, others on organics, animal testing, etc. I'd like to know more specifics on WHY a particular company made the cut. This could be solved with something as simple as a key or legend.
3. Finally, I'd like consumers to have the ability to leave ratings, remarks, feedback, personal experiences, etc about individual companies or products. This would allow for dispersal of greater overall knowledge and could help consumers AND companies alike!
Thanks for the work so far, and keep the updates coming!

Easy info for cruelty free products   Wonderful to see this as an app. I would like more information on major make-up companies as well. For example, Mac cosmetics.

???   Before I got this, I wondered if my favorite cruelty free brands are even on here. Yes to Carrots and Organic Wear.Yes to Carrots really is the best. They have EVERYTHING. And their chapsticks work pretty much immediately. Awesome for cold weather. Way better than all the others. AND I absolutely adore their shampoo and conditioner. Their mud conditioner (not actually mud) makes your hair sooooooo much softer than anything else you have everrrrr tried before. And it doesn't cost any more than regular shampoos or conditioners.

Quick and easy info   I just read about this app in the latest All Animals issue from The Humane Society of the US, who is also a founding member of CCIC - the org behind the Leaping Bunny guide. I love being able to quickly check on a company/product while I'm at a store - it's just another step in making it easy to make cruelty-free purchases. Thank you!
