Where's the real Quicken Mobile? I've been a Pocket Quicken user since it came out for the Newton MessagePad 120 (i.e., 1995). I've used versions of it on the Palm OS and Windows Mobile, and I've been patiently waiting for the iPhone version. I don't want my financial info in Quicken's cloud. I want it on my Mac desktop. Please, please, please make a version of that syncs with my Quicken Desktop.

A good start but... I agree with many users in that it is quite frustrating that you can't "refresh" your accounts from the app - you must be at a desktop pc to get up to date info. You can't even use the iPhone Safari browser to log in cuz quicken auto detects for their "mobile" site and from within you still can't refresh!
Also, as one user noted, quite often transactions appear as repeating transactions even when you told it not to.

Just plain useless This attempts to connect with your financial instutions to download balances. Data is often many days old. Transactions not cleared are hopelessly inaccurate with no way to force an item to be classified as cleared. Until they figure out a way to sync this with Quicken on your PC (like the Windows Mobile version) this is just useless, misleading, and out of date information.

Palm to iPhone Quicken User I've been using Quicken for the Palm platform for years. Syncing with the desktop Quicken application was perfect and seemless. Quicken.com is barely useable and the fact there is no desktop conduit is just a waste of time. This application does nothing other than record money spent. You'll still have to go back and re-record into your register (paper or software) to keep track and reconcile your finances. Don't waste your time if you are a user of Intuit's desktop applications.

Not quite there yet. I was a former Pocket Quicken user and I was hoping for something closer to that program. The desktop version of Quicken is outstanding and allows me to go back and research previous transactions. You lose that in this version. I just want a program that has all my desktop categories and allows me to me to enter transaction when I am on the street. Maybe they could use a cloud like Mobile Me to sync the info between the mobile and desktop version. I will continue to wait till I find a app that can do this.

Needs More UPDATE:
Needs to be able to refresh accounts from app. Useless otherwise cause I don't log I everyday and the last time it refreshed was 2 days ago. What's the point off an on the go app if it isn't up to date?
As for the app , it's an amazing well thought out app. I'd say the best of all the finance tracking apps. But for a quicken app, it needs a little more functionality.
1. Does not display the balance of your wallet (sure you can count it) but if it did you could make sure everything is balanced. You might have dropped a 20 and didn't know it.
2. Should be able to change info on transactions like you can for cash transactions.
3. There should be an option on quicken.com to change all future transactions so you if you buy groceries at target it won't keep coming up as "home" in the transaction catagories. This would help you stay on your goal budget better cause we don't have time to keep checking andchanging transations. That's why we have this app!
All in all this would be 5 stars if those things were change. If they were I would buy quickness or my mac for a seemless integration.
I perviously relied on mint.com app but review after review nothing has changed from the initial launch. Take that into consideration and fix this great app to give it all it's potential. I can wait to finally have such a perfect app for transactions, bills, and goals all in one app!

Wow! This is everything Mint and SplashMoney isn't - editing on the mobile side and stabilty/reliabilty, respectively.
I was wondering when Intuit was going to do something with the iPhone and they did with spades. It's obvious that their vast experience with personal finance (Quicken) and accounting in general (QuickBooks) is showing.
This is flexlable, powerful app that anyone with an iPhone and money should have. Period.

Desktop users out in the cold? I have to start out by saying that the problem I have with this app is not the iPhone app itself. It's definitely slick and seems very stable for a 1.0. My problem is that I simply cannot use it. I have years of data for the desktop version that I am tethered to. I addition, the feature set of the online offering is extremely limiting. Some of the lacking features:* Split Transactions* Assets* Reporting/Graphs are nowhere near the desktop versionAlso, the categories do not seem to “roll up” like the desktop version. (Where Utilities:Telephone would roll up under Utilities.)I would love to have a mobile companion app with me at all times, but if I have to re-enter everything into my desktop version because the feature set for online is so threadbare then what’s the point?To be clear, I've read that many people are complaining about security and this is not really a sticking point for me. I'm perfectly willing to "switch over" to using an online offering, but where is their migration path? I see no way to move my data over, and even if I could I wouldn't want to because of the extremely limited functionality I mentioned already. I honestly don't understand their rationale. They pretty much abandon the full-featured desktop app while promote an extremely watered down online app. (One which costs money, and the other which is free, no less.)What happened to Quicken? I can understand they want to reach out to new customers who may not be as savvy but I get the distinct impression that they are type casting different classes of users to different platforms. It seems they think desktop users are the data nerds and online users are much less engaged. Could it not be the case that both classes of users exist on both platforms?The description of the app makes it pretty clear that I'm not their target for Quicken Online, but my question is *why not*? I can understand that they want to reach out to new customers who may not be considered “power users”. But why leave their core customers out in the cold in doing so? I'm getting extremely frustrated with Intuit and am getting close to switching over to Mint even if it means abandoning my years and years of historical transactions.

Great but some improvements needed This is an amazing app. It's great cause instead of your password you can type a 4 digit passcode! That saves a lot of time.
But it would be nict to be able to manually retrieve data. I've been logged in for an hour and it hasn't updatedand I see no refresh button.
Also the map is really... lame... But with 3.0 that should be easily fixed I would think

Very useful Very simple to use once you set up Quicken on the web. All free if you use Quicken on PC or Mac. Then you have all your accounts at your bank to look at any sort of activity. You can't manipulate your account, just get info, but it should be handy to have this access. I have one minor suggestion. If you don't enforce the password, as soon as you touch the icon you get your account information on your screen for everyone to see & in large font. It's ok if you use the password option BUT it requires the entire bank ID and password just to get the app up. I wonder if they could add a local password just to turn on the app.
