How does GV Mobile work? GV Mobile initiates a secure connection with Google Voice and sends a command to do various tasks(call, send sms, etc). GV Mobile communicates only with Google Voice, no one else.
Please note that GV Mobile relies heavily on the use of an internet connection (3G, EDGE, Wifi, etc). If your internet connection is shady a best, this app may not function properly. By using GV Mobile, you understand that I am not liable for data charges you may incur.
Any drastic changes on Google's end may make GV Mobile inoperable. With that said, I plan on fully supporting this app to ensure it functions if changes occur.

Does not work I thought this program would be great so I signed up for Google voice which works perfectly on my computer. However, when I log into this program to activate it with my Google name and password it tells me that the user name or password is incorrect and to try to relog onto this program again. I have tried to log on numerous times but always get the same error message. There are almost no instructions to help you and one of the few instructions say that it may not work unless you have a good signal. Both my 3G and wi-fi signals are excellent so that is not the problem.
I feel that I threw out my money buying this application and would not have purchased Google voice if I knew it would not work on my iPhone.

Crashes when accessing SMS Just installed this on 3.0, and it crashes every time I try to access the SMS screen. I want my money back!

Unusable at the moment While I live in the continental US., having created my GMAIL account in Canada, the application does not let me log into my Google Voice account. This is incredibly frustrating as I spent the money hoping for immediate access. When this issue is apparently going to be addressed, I still wish this was mentioned so I wouldn't be out 2.99 while the developer addresses the issue.

BEAUTIFUL work Whoever coded this is a genius and deserves lots of money. Worth every cent. The only suggestion I add is if you could have it vibrate/make a sound when an SMS is received, that way if my phone is lying there with it open, it would make a noise! Thank you so much for this, I use it for my business!

If you have Google Voice you need this app The developers have done a great job with this app and the 1.2 update filled in all the gaps for me with full SMS support and VM support. GV mobile has been very stable and dependable on my phone and I agree the price is a bargain for everything it offers. My one wish is for VM transcription support. Keep up the great work!

Great start! This is a great app if you have a google voice #. It's intuitive and easy to use, however the UI is a bit sluggish during refresh. I would like to be able to edit google contacts directly from this program instead of just viewing. Please keep up the good work - I will definitely continue using this program to make GV calls/SMS. Please keep developing it further!

Good app. Great app for google voice before they launched their mobile site. Now you can do all this can with the Mobile site and a little more. If this app had push for text it would get 5 stars all the way.

Terrific app! I use GV Mobile constantly for both outgoing calls and SMS. It's stable and fast. The only thing missing is push notifications (even with 3.0), which Sean has told me would only be possible if Google released their own app. Perhaps Google will buy Sean out ;)

DO NOT BUY THIS APP! (It doesn’t work!) It will not make calls, each time I attempt a call I get the message "ERROR Google Voice Refused make call. This may be due to an invalid phone number you want to make the call from and/or you're trying to call a incorrect number. Please verify the number and call again.”* The grammatical errors were all displayed on the devices therefore, I believe that the developer doesn’t speak or fully understand the English language. I have attempted to contact the developer numerous times and have not heard back at all.I do not recommend that you waste any money on this product at all, try the free version and see if you can connect. That’s what I should have done, I trusted Gizmodo and Lifehacker and wasted $2.99 (no it’s not a ton of money but its still a waste.If they developer fixes the problem or refunds my money I will edit this review to indicate the resolution but as it stands now "Move along nothing to see here, and don't waste you money on GV Mobile!

big disappointment – not recommended Not stable, too many calls not completed. SMS fails and crashes my phone. Signing in problems. It is NOT a " problem with Google Voice service" – I use it heavily from my pc and don’t get such failures

Ideal (and improved) replacement for GrandDialer If you have Google Voice (or were holding back from upgrading your GrandCentral account) GV Mobile is the app for you. As a native iPhone app, GV Mobile provides tight integration with the iPhone Contacts + Groups (imho, a substantial and worthwhile benefit over the Google Voice web interface).The only major feature that it lacks (compared to the Google Voice web interface) is display of the voicemail transcripts. It also can't edit many of the Google Voice general settings such as editing your voicemail greeting(s), advanced phone options (when to ring), etc.Other areas of improvement might be for the app to borrow more heavily from the native Visual Voicemail interface with a tap to play (it takes two taps currently: one to select then another to start playback) and a playback meter (with audio scrubbing support); the ability to forward/email voicemails directly within GV Mobile; the above mentioned display of transcripts; and the ability to add voicemail notes which sync to Google Voice.

Doesn't work at all on Touch Quite tip for folks - don't buy this if you're hoping to use your Touch as a Google Voice phone. It doesn't work. Description should be clearer on that. Cant even listen to voicemails or receive SMS. I wasted three bucks, hope you don't. If you want to make calls from your Touch, you need Skype, not this.

Not ready for prime time! I was very excited to see a Google Voice iPhone app finally released. However this app is almost completely non-functional. I get an error message whenever I try to initiate a call. When you click on the + button to select the contact you'd like to text it doesn't respond. The cancel button doesn't work so you then have to exit out of the application. The only functionality that does seem to work is sending outgoing text messages. Of course since the address book lookup doesn't work you will have to know the number and manually enter it. Viewing text history or receiving the text message does not work.I would stick with Goggle Voice mobile website for now. I really wish Google would come out with a real mobile app or at least pretty up the mobile website.

Wonderful app I enjoyed using the now-defunct GrandDialer app with GrandCentral and finally there is a dialer app worthy of Google Voice. The free version appears to duplicate GrandDialer's functionality, but for a few bucks, you can get SMS and voicemail. This app has replaced my webpage shortcut icon on my iPod touch; while all the this functionality is available from Google Voice's mobile website, this is a far friendly interface. The two main features I would love to see would be SMS history and an integrated SIP client, but this is a five-star app right now.
