Frankly, a disappointment - not what it could easily have been. MLB could easily have integrated the box score, stats, etc. that it provides for free on its own website - instead you have to depart the app to visit the same website you can get for free to see those stats.An app that integrated that and still offered the video this app does offer would easily have been worth the 4.99. I thought it was a decent risk to try it out - but without some quick changes, there's no way I can recommend spending the money for a half season - or probably double the amount for a full season next year. A few tweaks and they can quickly make this a much better deal. Until then, I suggest sticking with the MLB website. - MLB.com At Bat Lite review by Northwestern

Great App! I got this app when it first launched and I'll be the first to admit that it wasn't worth the $5....but now since the new update, this app is the ONLY app you need for baseball. It gives you live play by play, in game boxscores, video highlights, previews and pitching matchups for the next days games, and yes, there IS a way to pick your favorite team, if you people would read, you would realize that its in the settings section of your phone. The 1.2 update is a homerun. MLB's Advanced Media Department has done a fantastic job improving this application in only a couple month's time. Great application, needs some tweaking though. Great application, very nice graphic of what's happening in the game. Loads relatively fast, even on EDGE, and has everything new within about fifteen seconds of it happening real time. What a great idea! The only addition I would have would be to add a live pitch by pitch feature where you can see where the pitch was, etc... like on ESPN or MLB.com.
