Best Free Wikipedia App Striver333, the feature that allows the user to clear the Wikipanion history on the next launch is supposed to save you from the hassle of having to open the application to clear the history. There is a feature that allows the user to clear the history from within the application. To do this, press the bookmarks button (located at the top right of the screen in the search bar), then press the button on the bottom right of the screen that shows an image of a clock (this shows your history). Now just press edit (on the bottom left) and clear (on the bottom right). To go back to your bookmarks, just press the button that is next to the history button (this button has the bookmarks symbol). So to simplify this process: Bookmars Button, History Button, Edit Button, Clear Button. I hope this helps you to realize that the "Remove History (On next launch only)" is meant to be a time saver.I have read some other reviews from people who seem to be unaware that Wikipanion has the features that they are requesting. If there is a feature that you think is missing from Wikipanion, I suggest that you go to their website and read all of the included features. As for me, I just downloaded it and tested every available feature that I could see.I have tested all of the free wikipedia apps, and this one is the winner.Wikipanion is relatively quick to change orientation from portrait to landscape, or vice versa. The other apps either take a longer time to change orientation, or they don't have that feature.Wikipanion has many features and still keeps the screen organized and simple. It also keeps the true wikipedia style.If you really want an app that gives you the true Wikipedia functionality mixed with many new features specifically for the iPhone/iPod touch, then get this app. And if you have an iPod touch, I recommend that you purchase Wikipanion Plus, because it has the feature that allows the user to cache Wikipedia pages for offline use.

So Glad This Came Out For awhile now I have been using a springlet (a web app that quickly searches wikipedia without loading the whole page) to view wikipedia, but the process kinda slow for my liking. I have checked out the other wikipedia app in the app store I didn't really care for that one either.This is truly a great free app to one of the best well known reference sites out there. The way this app breaks down the page into bookmarks/categories and links is really impressive. It loads fast and searchs are quick. Just open up the app and type away. What is also great is it displays in landscape mode just like in safari. If your a college student like me having this app is a must. If your someone else that enjoys wikipedia then this is for you to. Basically anyone can enjoy this app due to its simplicity and design. Great work to the developer. Good for regulars, not for wikipedia users This is a nice application for reading Wikipedia, but not good enough for Wikipedian regulars. You can't edit here like you could with the Safari webapp, and some things don't show up how they're supposed to.. Not an easy interface to use.. Quick access to Wikipedia This app really is quick on finding stuff on wikipedia. I did notice the large fonts so it would be easily read, can be viewede on landscape and portrait, as well as the pictures. The bottom panel I had to figure out what those icons were, I wish there was a help or just provide it on the app's description. The bottom panel consists of Back, Forward, Sections, Links. One thing I would suggest for the future update is a "Back to the top" link, or somehow make it easier to go back to the search box. Just use wikipedia on safari... Worthless app. It basically re-aligns and re-wraps wikipedia pages to fit the iPhone screen...but with big ugly fonts and none of the functionality.
