NIV offline please   I use the NIV translation exclusively but it is not available in an offline translation. Since I only have the iPod touch, not an iPhone, that means I can only read the NIV translation when I am near an open Wi-fi signal. It would be very nice to provide the NIV translation in an offline for those who are in my boat. Thank you!

Not quite what I expected   I agree with other reviews that this app is the best for the iPhone - I can't believe how many versions are included with this! The unfortunate thing is that whenever I travel (on, say, a long flight), I can't read the Bible because it requires an internet connection. I was hoping that I would have a version of the Bible that would be on the iPhone itself so that I wouldn't have to wait for the pages to load. Hopefully, an offline version will be coming soon!

Great App......Could Improve   I love this app. I think that it is great and I love that they offered it for free. There are so many versions here it is great to have a wide selection. This is an app have I have used everday since I downloaded it and probably will use every day regularly. There are some improvements or reccommendations that I would suggest. I have already written to you version and hopefully we can see some of these changes in future updates. Here are my suggestions.- Be able to view in landscape mode.- Be able to bookmark- Have Jesus' words in red- Be able to view offline- Be able to customize the bottom menu to meet individuals needs- Have story subjects (ie - For Genesis 1:1 the subject would be "The History of Creation"Besides those few things this is definitely a wonderful app that I love and will use a lot.

I wanted to like this...but   Being that it is a "free" Bible, how can you complain...well, here it goes. Download Stanza, it is free ebook reader and you can download the entire Bible (for free through the app itself) and have it with you at anytime. The huge problem with this app is that it should have remained a web app. All the fanciness of this Bible program is useless if you are unable to connect.

Great App! Love it! Note to non-Christians posting churlish comments.   This is a great app bc it has many versions of the Bible and it is easy to use. Also great bc it can be viewed on my light phone, which I carry everywhere. For all the non-Christians out there giving this app low ratings...I've read many of those reviews and I've got two words for you - GROW UP. I am open-minded and I didn't think that any of those reviews were open-minded to any kind of insightful thinking, instead it was a reflection of your narrowmindness on what the world is like and how it was created. Perhaps you should spend less time sheitting out of your mouth and more time learning from resources around you. Nonetheless, most importantly with regards to the reviews for this app - your feedback is supposed to be user reviews for the app (its usefulness as a program, functionality, etc.), not a grounds for anti-Christian diatribe. If you want to complain about Christianity and the Bible, go find a Bible bashing website and critize there. But just so you know, none of the rude opinions were educational, or suggestive of any sort of clear outlook on religion; subsequently, the written outbursts have probably fueled the minds and hearts of the caring people who have downloaded this program to pray for you as the only unmistakable fact is that you need attention and are probably yearning for the love of God...but that's besides the point of my remarks. Since I'm on the topic anyways, as a Christian, I hope that one day you will see the light and be saved so that you may know the peace and happiness of God's love thru Christ. God is real and He is loving and understanding and ready for you. Simply ask Him into your life and He will welcome you with loving arms.Justin, it is flagrantly evident that you aren't carefully reading anything. U accused me (and/or the Christian public) of supporting the Bible bc my parents taught me to and that I believe the Bible bc the Bible tells me to. Those were false assumptions. I did not grow up in a Christian household, nor did I have a single person near me forcing Christianity down my throat. Furthermore, I don't advocate the Bible and believe in it bc it tells me to. I found Christ and have a personal relationship with Him, which is why I read the Bible. Since He is many things to me-my Savior, my Lord, my friend-I read the Bible to get to know Him better as I would for anybody in my life. I read the Bible bc it offers a history of events, stories of ppl that were poor and needy and rich and successful, on and on. I learn what He has done and what He is like and what He can do. You'll most likely bring up the logic card or mentally unstable card for having an "imaginary" mate; however, He is just as real as love. You cannot physically see love, or touch it; however, any person in the world will acknowledge that love exists, whether they have experienced it or not. Secondly, thank u for updating ur review. It is now the only smack review that has any good content w/supporting commentary. Nevertheless, I'd like to point out the obvious-you mention The Big Bang, better know as The Big Bang Theory. It is a THEORY and although it is based on scientific evidence, after decades of research it has never been proven as fact. (Yet you believe it with faith just as I believe in God with my faith.) When Georges Lemaître first proposed this theory as the origin of the universe, he called it his 'hypothesis of the primeval atom'. Again, even the originator of The Big Bang Theory, called it his HYPOTHESIS bc it is based on mere assumptions. The Bible, on the other hand, was written by over 40 authors, in 3 languages, on 3 continents, over a span of 1,500 years, and covers hundreds of controversial subjects. Yet, the authors all spoke with agreement; there are no contradictions. In addition, its authenticity is backed up by historical data and artifacts that have been gathered for centuries by Christians and non-Christians alike. So, I implore you to open ur mind and diligently and carefully investigate further, even if it is to disprove what you don't want to believe. You'll only be smarter by doing so.the·o·ry (dictionary.com)2.a proposed explanation whose status is still conjectural, in contrast to well-established propositions that are regarded as reporting matters of actual fact.6.contemplation or speculation.7.guess or conjecture. "...or I will just assume that you are an idiot."ASSume in layman's terms-make an a*s of you and me. Don't assume anything about me. Not thinking outside of the box and not educating yourself outside of what you are comfortable with propagates linear growth. It looks like the one that has been brainwashed is you, into The Big Bang Theory. As for evidence supporting the Bible, do a search on Google and go to the library or bookstore. Going back to one of my main points, this is not the appropriate forum for a thesis on the matter.Feedback for creators of the app: it would be great if the list of books of the Bible was moved out from under "More" and made a direct shortcut. The "More" tab is unnecessary; the YouVersion info under "About," which is the only other link under "More," can be moved to the loading screen where it currently does not say anything except for "YouVersion." It'd then be mandatory for all users to see it for the split second until the program starts.

Only works if you have an Internet connection   This app is great, but unfortunately limited by the fact that you need an Internet connection to read any Bible verses. For example if you are sitting in the basement of your church without any cellular or wifi signal the app won't work.

This one does not bother me.   While browsing through the app store I came across many different bible apps. All which are overly priced and appear to be lacking in features.I was kind of bothered by the fact they are being releasing for such a high price. This bible app is right on.Aside from this being free, it's loaded with content. Kudo's to LifeChurch.tv. They seem to always be on the ball.

Nonbelievers   Why waste your time knocking something you don't understand. Not believing in god or the bible has nothing to do with this app. I think this app is great even though you need a connection to use it. It's free and that's what I needed. Thanks for a great product.

Decent for casual use   While this could be useful for some, I could not use it this morning in church because I only have a iPod Touch and no WiFi in range. I ended up using my friend's iPhone which took a few seconds per page to load over Edge. Also, the scrolling of the page is jittery and not the typical smooth scroll that I am used to in other apps. This actually makes it difficult to scroll to the bottom of a chapter. Usable yes, but not ideal. I'd rather pay for an app that doesn't have these faults.I should be able to rearrange the buttons across the bottom because I would rather have quick access to books and versions while moving daily read and contribs to the more menu. In fact, the above orientation is more likely to be a better default that the current one. As it stands, if I go to a verse, and then wish to change translations, I have to hit more, then I am presented with a list of chapters. It is not intuitive to have to hit "books" and "more" at the top left to get back to the menu where I can change translations. In addition, I noticed several issues with the NASB translation. We looked at Gen 25 this morning, and there are numerous cases of two words rammed together. For example, there is the word "LORDsaid" instead of "LORD said" and "usethen" instead of "use then". This is not a display issue because if I searched for the word "usethen" it actually finds it in Gen 25!Lastly, I would like to see many additional features such as bookmarks and notes keyed to the verse as seen in another bible app. Also, I'd like to be able to change the text size so that I can see more of the chapter at a time (I can more quickly read small print). A search should scroll the scripture page to the result; again as seen in another bible app.On the whole, this app is a decent start, but I found that by paying some money, I can get far more.

Doesn't seem to work with EDGE network   Before getting this app, I could access all these translations and more via biblegateway.com through the Safari web browser. Since this app only works with Internet connection and only seems to work with a WiFi connection on my 1st gen iPhone, it doesn't give me anything that I didn't have before.

Great Bible!   This is a great iPhone Bible. Love the navigation and ease of use. It would be awesome if you could bookmark and recall verses - maybe you can and I can't find it? It would make it possible to preach from my iPhone, which I'd love.
