Very disappointed   As a satisfied user of last year's version, I was definitely looking forward to the update and the new features this year. However, things seem to have been rushed out the door (can't see why...). Gameday view updates sporadically, if at all. I frequently have to restart the app to get updates to show up on the Gameday screen even though the updates appear up to date on the scorebard screen. Game audio works sometimes, but it seems inconsistent. The application also crashes frequently. Finally, I haven't seen any improvement in the video clip footage on the 3G network...in fact, the video looks a little bit worse than last year on the EDGE network. I definitely feel frustrated at spending $10 on this app. Might as well just follow along with games on mobile ESPN or SI for free.

Gameday Crashes Constantly   Everything is great except gameday will stop updating then you gave to exit the app and come back in. This always happens. Updates for a few minutes then stops. Once fixed this will be a five star app.

this app does not update   I have to stop the app and restart it frequently. This is very annoying, and makes the live features useless.

Poorly executed (Updated and rating changed for ver 1.0.1)   Updated for version 1.0.1 MLB appears to have responded less than one week after the start of the season and corrected ver 1.0 bugs. I didn't doubt they would, I was just disappointed that they rolled out so many problems. I will make great use of this app throughout the year and now give it five stars*****Original revue:What surprises me most about this app, is the 4+ star rating given by about 85% of the people having reviewed it thus far. I get the impression that people simply looked at 162 games of audio and figured it's a steal at 10 bucks. Unfortunately the app seems nothing more than the lite version with audio added which would be fine if it worked, but while they had plenty of time to get this functional it's badly flawed.1. Crash after crash. The well reported crash using the button as well as crashes at times pausing audio. The frequent crashes occur when using from gameday when the bottom one third of the screen comes up blank for some reason.2. No one from what I have seen mentions the app not releasing the screen to dim/black. If you're listening to a game and forget to lock the phone it's clearly a battery killer. Every other streaming app I use let's the phone idle. 3. Audio. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Connection frequently dropped for varying amounts of time. Tex/Cle today, only Texas audio worked. Mets/Reds, only Mets audio was offered. Marlins/Nats, both feeds but mislabeled. The volume is almost always way too low. On the plus side. I left Starbucks wifi listening over wifi. I briefly lost the audio, but it started up over 3G. When I got home, it never dropped and moved to wifi. That was nice.Because it's MLB, I'm operating on the level that there will be a fix soon. If not, I'm on record as looking for a refund because this product is unusable to me. I have no qualms bombing this with a one star rating. Let's not be so quick to throw around ten bucks and five stars when it's not warranted.

quite disappointing   If the audio streaming worked consistently, and the app were a bit more polished, this would be a 5-star value for the whole season's worth of baseball. But I'm posting on Opening Day, and the app has already crashed on me several times, the audio drops about once per inning and stays dropped for quite some time, meaning I miss part of the game. And the app's interface doesn't seem to be very well considered: for instance, every time you go to the Home screen or answer a call the app forgets what game you're following and which audio stream you're listening to, forcing you to re-select it every single time you re-open the app rather than seamlessly resuming what you were doing last time (or allowing a permanent preference, say, for your favorite team's broadcasters). Nice idea, poor execution -- both the user interface and MLB's streaming infrastructure need work.

Error message on audio....   I'll gladly change my review to a five star once this app is working correctly. Was able to listen to the first 7 innings of my game with no issue (on wi-fi, 3G and EDGE) then suddenly my audio went out completely, going between "Connecting..." and "Error." If this is a sign of things to come for the entire season, I'll do anything I can to get my $10 back. Disappointing app with GREAT potential.

Conflicted   The very concept of this app is a five star application. It would take something monumentally bad to screw it up. While I wouldn't call the current version of At Bat monumentally bad, it is pretty screwed up in a number of ways.- It has crashed at least 15 times for me. One time the lock up was so bad that I had to restart my phone- Some games only have one audio feed (this was on opening day, this problem may have been fixed server side)- The audio feeds are labeled by team and then call letters of the station, ie, but these labels aren't always correct. A few times I've seen it where a team name was listened and then the call letters for the radio station of the other teams broadcast were in parenthesis. (This could be a server side fix as well)- Audio feeds drop out frequently. Other times it will say "error" and not let me listen at all. (this is over wifi and edge)- Video highlights? Where are they? I attribute this to how badly they've botched mlb.tv that they don't have the bandwidth to serve up video highlights yet. Last years version of At Bat would generally have 5 or 6 video highlights per game, and they would appear moments after the event in the game takes place. Now you're lucky to see one highlight per game.- The player cards for pitchers show some pretty irrelevant statistics. It looks like they created a player card template for hitters and then used the same card for pitchers, but filled in the related stats that they could use. So instead of seeing a pitcher's career innings pitched, wins, loses, WHIP, etc... you see career numbers for batters faced (ab), avg (batting avg against), hr (given up), bb (allowed), k (created). Clearly those are the stats from a hitters card that were lazily translated over to a pitcher and they made the numbers work for a pitcher.

$5 less than the regular price   This looks to be a fantastic deal. Gameday Audio is $14.95 for the season when purchased through the mlb.com website, but only $9.99 when purchased as part of this application.

Unbelievable value for 162 games!!!   Usually I would say just go to the website and check the scores save your money. But this app includes everything, LIVE streaming radio broadcast (home or away), gamecast pitch by pitch type, speed, location, player stats, highlight videos min after they happen ALL for $10! For the entire 162 game season with NO blackout restrictions like MLB.tv! I am in heaven!!

Buggy - can't hear the audio - waste of money   In spite of numerous requests to fix the bugs, they still live (such as the application exiting when going back). The worst feature of this POS app is that you can't hear the audio! I bought this to listen to the Yanks and you literally can't hear it!I've got hundreds in App Store apps and this is by far the worst. Can't set a favorite team. All in all, this app is crap. Worst 9.99 ever spent. Don't buy this until the dim bulbs at MLB fix it. Total waste of money.

This is terrible   I downloaded and used last years version of this app and loved it. This version on the other hand doesn't deliver at all. It crashes, it has locked up my iPhone, and I have had a hard time connecting to the audio, and once connected I lose it. Not worth the 10 dollars at all.One of the things that really bugs me is that the average rating for this app is totally messed up since it got 5 stars from a lot of people who rated it before baseball opening day, which was before the audio was even available (sic). Almost everyone who rated this AFTER opening day gave it a low rating.

Great App... in Theory.   ...but apparently not in practice. Perhaps version 1.1 will be a tad bit better, but until then, save your money. To put it in perspective, I've had my iPhone for a little over a year now. In that time, I've had to reset the phone 2 times total (both were reception/network related). Since I've had this app installed (for 4 days now), I've had to reset my iPhone 7 times. For some reason, it likes to lose connection to the games as you're listening to them, and then not recover. Subsequent attempts to load the application result in hanging and or immediate crashes.I gave it 2 stars, instead of 1, because the 2 innings I was actually able to listen to today were outstanding. The rest of the day, however, was pure frustration.

Great App... in Theory.
A Must For Any Baseball Fan   MLB.com At Bat 2009 offers similar features (like box score) to many other apps, including Sportstacular and SportsTap. However, At Bat also gives the user the chance to listen live to any game in progress, as well as follow the game live in the Gamecast, with the former feature alone being well worth the (relatively) cheap price of $9.99. Apps such as WunderRadio are not permitted to broadcast MLB game's play-by-play, something I've always found frustrating, but one battle at a time. The app does, admittedly, have a few bugs, such as the constant crashing when you press the "Back" button, but I am sure they will be dealt with, since the MLB has nothing to gain from frustrating their fans. All in all, this app is a must for any baseball fan, no matter the price.

Nicely done.   Jaxson, go to settings and you can adjust those settings. I particularly appreciate the fact that there is not a blackout restriction on this app. I would like to see video in a future version too. Great value for the price, I was expecting it to be more expensive.

Fantastic App!   Now that I can finally hear the audio (an update was just released), this app really is a baseball fan's dream. I have an iPod touch, and can only atest to the quality of sound over WiFi, but it is pretty quiet. However, that's a pretty minor quibble compared to how amazing the rest of this app is. I recommend it wholeheartedly!

Amazing   Amazing, just downloaded this app last night, and tested out the audio, perfect. Crystal clear on my ipod touch using wifi. The sound is a little low, but hooked up to my speakers to amp up the sound takes care of that. Totally worth the $10. Definitely buy.

Not Reliable   I purchased this to listen to WGN broadcasts of the Cubs games and both April 6 and April 7 the feed for WGN was available at the beginning but disappeared later a couple of innings later. Fix this MLB! I didn't buy this application to listen to the Astros' radio announcers.
