Looks like the best mileage App available App works very well. Interface is intuitive. Collects all the data I need for mileage tracking at my company and exports it well. The number wheel is clumsy to use due the small width of the wheels. Hopefully the number pad in a future version upgrade will work better. Had to watch the whole tutorial on their website before discovering that you had to go to the iPhone Settings screen to change some of the app options rather than from inside the app itself. Nothing Short of Excellent! The website offers a TRULY informative movie, presenting delightful surprises at virtually every turn as various aspects of the program are demonstrated. Dang near every feature an IRS-conscious user wants is present. And, the intelligent implementation, in both input and execution, is absolutely wondrous.Search ... Tags ... "Sticky" input, as in remembering the name/car/odometer number last entered ... Ability to include deductible rate per trip, with category (business vs charity vs medical vs other) ... Easy to add back-dated trips ... Punching a button flips open the native email app, with an Excel-friendly file attached, so you can add a message in the body if desired ... Choose which part of the log to export ... The features list, all brilliantly implemented, is simply too long to spread out here.THIS is the sort and quality of business app I anticipated when news of the SDK dawned. Updated App is EXCELLENT!!!! I originally reviewed this app a few weeks ago. My first review was realistic but not all together flattering. Since I really need an app like this, because I am a road warrior driving over 40,000 miles a year for work, I forwarded my review to the people at App Cubby.Amazingly, they responded, on a weekend, within hours. We communicated about my issues with the program and it turns out that I found a couple of bugs. One was making the program crash and the other prevented me from emailing my records. Well, this new update, as promised has not only addrssed the stability issues but, has really made this a FANTASTIC app!!! It solves so many of the problems keeping track of milage for tax purposes and has actually introduced several record keeping shortcuts that will reduce my end of year tax preperation work. This program is ROCK SOLID and usability is excellent!!Trip Cubby has probaly SAVED me several hours of tax preperation work...like almost 10 HOURS of work. My time is very valuable to me and that saving of time, while enabling superior accuracy, is worth 50 TIMES the app price!!!Just to be involved with a development team that RESPONDS and genuinely CARES is truely amazing! Excellent, and should only get better! I've been looking for an app like this since the launch of the App Store. I'm on the road a lot for business and have been using the dreaded notebook method of tracking everything. What a pain!With Trip Cubby, I'm finally able to rid myself of the notebook! The interface works very well and the features are well thought out and implemented. And being able to email the log in an Excel friendly format is wonderful. Hands Down BEST Mileage APP Out!!! I own and have tried the other milage apps that are out and i really tired to love them. However they always left me wanting more. This app however ROCKS! It has everything you need or would want in an app. Very well thought out, easy to use, looks great, and makes keeping up with your milage a fast and simple. I knew if I waited someone would do it! I looked at the other Mileage apps and the writers had just written them thinking someone needed one, or if they actually wrote it for themselves. This app appears the be the first one that someone wrote for themselves (which is why the iphone is so Good, Apple made the phone they wanted). Anyway, my biggest issue is with the time entry. I wish there was a preference that let you change the time increments to 15 min or 30 min instead of ONE minute. It's a pain to have to flick, flick, flick to get the minutes set. Makes tracking mileage painless I got the iPod Touch to replace an aging Palm m505. One of the essential applications I needed was a mileage log since I do a considerable amount of driving and get reimbursed for it. Until now I would enter "start" and "end" mileage in the Palm's calendar, then painstakingly consolidate the entries into a spreadsheet for a final tax report.There are two cars that I use for work. Trip Cubby makes it easy to track both vehicles independently. Trip Cubby's odometer-graphic data entry interface keeps track of the last mileage reading on each vehicle so the "start" miles don't have to be re-entered if the vehicle hadn't been driven since the previous entry.The odometer user interface is also quite handy. Entering the "ending" mileage is as simple as clicking the last couple of digits. That makes data entry easier, and there's less likelihood to make a major mistake.Distances and reimbursements are calculated instantly, and the reimbursement rate is user-definable. The data is easily transmitted via email, and there's no need to set up a POP account. Also, the numbers are readily sorted in an Excel spreadsheet. I can separate miles driven for different production companies, and subdivide that for each vehicle as well.There are a few rough spots, at least in my opinion. For example, when creating a new trip record, Trip Cubby defaults to the "end" field instead of the "start" field. It was designed that way to accommodate users who track multiple trips in a single day. The authors are considering ways to solve that issue.And there are a few other minor user-interface refinements that are being considered. Trip Cubby's software authors are quick to respond to questions and other correspondence. I had a list of suggestions which got a reply early the next day. With input from a very enthusiastic user base, I'm certain Trip Cubby will soon evolve into an even better utility.A very nicely designed application that is absolutely worth the price. Great mileage log with many uses! I bought this app for tracking my mileage as a location photographer. It's great in that it can be set to track many auto related items because of the flexibility built into it. I even use it to track car repairs and oil changes by creating tags for those tasks, but you can eliminate the clutter by filtering those item off when not needed.After the update, I love the ability to set the mileage via the keypad by changing the setting under the iphone settings menu.I have had excellent results using the exported files in Apple's Numbers program since I don't use Excel.Great job on the Trip Cubby application and the documentation on your website!Keep up the good work! - Trip Cubby • Mileage Log review by mwall7
Excellent mileage application I travel nearly every day for business. Writting down mileage and trip details on a pad of paper can be cumbersome and messy. This application does a wonderful job of exporting the mileage data to an OpenOffice spreadsheet (it did not work as well with a NeoOffice spreadsheet). Outstanding App OK, I've been using this app for about a week now. There is no reason to look at any of the other mileage apps. The user interface is simple and intuitive and while the app is not pretty there is an elegance in its simplicity. Email transfer was simple and flawless. File comes in CSV format which Excel and NeoOffice convert in a snap, then it is a simple matter to sort and filter to create whatever report you want. The only issue I've seen so far is that there is no option for a Personal trip. I'm just using the Other category and set the deduction rate to zero, so it works for me. Charles I purchased Trip Cubby in October and have never regretted it. Very reliable application. Easy to use. No problems with entering data. It has never crashed. I have to keep milage for the IRS and I find entering milage log books tedious and uninteresting. I really like this product. Excellent Excellent program. Does what it says in a mostly intuitive way. It would be better if you could rearrange the rows so that the ones you use frequently are at the top. For example, I use two vehicles, so every time I have to scroll way down to change the vehicle. Would be better if I had the choice to put that entry near the top. But this is a minor quibble. A must-have for self-employed professionals I don't buy very many apps, but this one has proven to be an invaluable timesaver for me. It performs as promised as a simple to use, reliable mileage tracker that really does eliminate the hassle of otherwise having to keep a log with pen and paper. Yet there's something even more outstanding about Trip Cubby...and that's the support from the developers. My emails to them are answered within minutes and that includes the time when I was troubleshooting a minor annoyance...they got to the bottom of it quickly and thoroughly. It's worth mentioning to Mac users that Trip Cubby has no problems at all with handling exported files in Numbers as well as Excel. Fantastic Application Prior to getting my second generation iPhone, I used a free mileage application on my Palm Pilot. When I first got my iPhone, I was using iPhone Miles, a web application. This web application was perfect for my needs EXCEPT for the fact that I always had to go online to use it. I had been keeping my eyes open for a solid mileage application and was impressed by Trip Cubby's reviews and the tutorial on their website. I went ahead and purchased it and I LOVE it. It has way more features than you could imagine and the support from the company is top notch. I love not having to wait until I get a solid connection to input my mileage data.
