Almost perfect I just got this app and for the price it's amazing. Very simple interface and entering items is a snap. My only complaint would be once you've created a catagory you can't get rid of it. I mistakenly put an earn catagory in spend. No big deal but I'd like to be able to correct it and not have to scroll by it all the time. And every catagory MUST have a sub-catagory. Food/groceries warrents a sub-catagory to me, I only get one paycheck so I don't want a sub for that. This is really a minor complaint. It is enough to keep me looking though. But I must say again how much I love the simple/fast entering. A big red and green button simple yet genius. I'm looking forward to see some of the updates. Being able to look at expences by either month/week/day or catagory would be a welcome addition as well.

Relatively easy to learn, Sync Capability I've been looking for a good budgeting app for simple record keeping; I don't need fancy graphs or detailed statistics. If you're looking for a more powerful software with these features, it seems the "Budget" app can do those tasks. Accountr is an affordable solution for my requirements. Since iTunes seems to wipe data occasionally (reports have been varied among iTunes users), I was looking for a way to backup my data easily to the web. The Accountr app does this as a new feature from the Sep. 15th update through Google Docs. As for the learning curve, I found it difficult to start out. The organization of the app data is in two main types, "Earn" and "Spend". And they do what you would expect; earn entries add a positive entry while spend entries add a negative entry to your running totals. Within each entry type, you must make a main category (ie. food, entertainment, etc.) and also create subcategories (ie. under entertainment: movies, concerts, CDs/DVDs, etc.). Then you can add expenses to the appropriate subcategory (and only subcategories can be credited). I read another review that said that categories were not able to be deleted, but I found that (at least in the September 15th version) you can delete a category by finger swiping across the name of the category, much like fast deleting an e-mail. It will present you with a delete confirmation, easy enough. Accountr is not the most elegant and simple app, but after learning it for several minutes, it can be a powerful tool for your budgeting needs. - Accountr - Budget Checkbook review by badtyprr
Amazing Application I love this application! It's amazingly easy to use, very straight forward, and pleasing to the eye!
I actually had a small issue at first, the program crashed and wouldn't load at all. However, I contacted the developer and he responded very quickly and several times! I was very surprised I recieved so much help. I ended up deleting the program, and re-syched the program back onto the phone and the problem was fixed!
So far I've had no issues with the program and love it! This is the only program I have bought from the iTunes App Store an I don't regret it for one second!
Of course I look forward to updates from the developer.
Hopefully this program will discourage me from needlessly spending money.

Decent product I gave it 5 cause program does what it says very well. Now it doesn't exactly have what I need, it's more of a quick overlook of what your bank account has in it if you make a purchase. From what dev said it's a simple product at a cheap rate.

quite happy with it... Though it took a bit of exploring to figure things out (many of the comments below are informative) this looks like a good, simple app that does what it advertises. GREAT!!!!! 4 a buck - it's very handy. Awesome. Just what I was looking 4. Thanks so much. I would only say that if there was a way to link it to another iPhone - so they could share the same account settings and update each others exspenses as changes were made (4 couples / married people) I always know what I' m aloting funds 2 but other variables come up from the other half. Latest update is great As of 10/20/08, this current update is a real blessing! UI is cleaned up, and flows more easily. App is more solid all around, not as clunky as previous version. Well worth $0.99 price tag. I used it to just jot down expenses I incur throughout the week, especially if I did not get a receipt. Not that great Don't know why the other reviewers love this so much. It's not intuitive, the sub-category thing unnecessarily complicates things, it doesn't automatically make the "spend" categories the same as the "earn" categories, and there's no way to set up recurring "earn"s for your regular paycheck.
