"The Frenzic UI is just so sharp, responsive, and downright perfect for the iPhone platform!" - TheAppleBlog
"This is a game you can—and will—play for hours on end" - Slide To Play
"It's so perfectly suited to touch screen controls that it's hard to believe it wasn't designed for the iPhone all along." - Daring Fireball
"The sound design is excellent, with a scheme that matches the visual design very well." - TUAW
Well-thought, addictive, and extreme fun.   I first played this game as a desktop app and immediately I was hooked. I always imagined it would lend itself well to a mobile platform. Now it finally has. Having it available in my pocket, no matter where I am, just serves to make it all the more addicting. Not only is it a blast to get caught up in for long stretches of time, but it's equally exciting even if you've only got 3 minutes to kill. I highly recommend this game, especially now that you can easily share it with your friends for a little casual competition. The Iconfactory have really set the bar for games with Frenzic. It's beautiful to look at, intuitive to use, and extremely addictive to play.

Amazing   Frenzic is one of the best games if not the best game for OS X and now arguably the best puzzle game for iPhone/iPod touch. The gameplay is simple and fast but doesn't get old, assuming it's like the Mac version. Essentially, you play this game by trying to make pies of the same color. Google Frenzic on your iPhone/iPod touch and there is an online webapp demo. Also, $5 is much cheaper compared to the mac version. The graphics in this game obviously won't blow you away, but they don't try to either. The visuals are smooth and crisp, not overdone but not too minimalistic. The sound effects are not distracting and fit just right with the game. There's another really cool effect--if you have an iPhone, it will vibrate at oppurtune times. It feels really natural and is a small touch that goes far.The high score system is smooth, but you can't use your Frenzic that you have for the Mac version on this. Instead, there are two separate scoreboards on their website--one for mobile and one for desktop. Why, oh Iconfactory? Why? There are some cool high score things though. For instance, there are different categories of high scores like Best Local Scores or Best Players Today. These categories make getting to the top of the high score list not completely unrealistic but still challenging.Signing up for an account is pretty easy, but could be done better. You need to enter your email address on your iPhone and you'll receive an email with your account name and password. Then, you can go to the Frenzic website and change your username/password. The good news is accounts aren't necessary at all, they're just for some features at the Frenzic website. There are also some personal stats which are really cool to look at. You have a Rank, (what place you're in out of everyone) a Devotion, (newbie, etc.) Location, Top Score, and Completed Pies Per Game. One other thing that I want to point out is how amazing the Iconfactory's support is. Expect responses at least within a day, but probably in a few hours. I've dealt with them for a lot of their software... they're just great people who care about the customer and the software.I've played this game for both hours and minute sessions. Frenzic works for both, so if you're in the waiting room or in a plane, you'll find yourself playing Frenzic.Pros:$5AddictiveEasy to pick upPretty cool high score systemPersonal StatsPleasing graphics and soundGreat customer supportCons:No "universal" high scores between computer and iPhoneSigning up is clunky and ultimately unnecessaryBottom line:I've played this game for both hours and minute sessions. Frenzic works for both, so if you're in the waiting room or in a plane, you'll find yourself playing Frenzic. For the price of lunch at McDonald's, you could own countless hours of color-matching, pie-making fun.

Great Game and Well Done App   I've never played the Mac OS X version of Frenzic but I was introduced to the online version optimized for the iPhone. I played that over the network and wifi quite regularly and enjoyed it quite a bit but when native apps came around, I moved away from the game and played other native games.I am happy to see that The Iconfactory has released a native version of the game for the iPhone. I have played it a few times already and it is very nicely done and great to look at. The game is smooth and responsive and very intuitive. The music and sound effects are slick. A couple nice touches include the option to have feedback through vibration (iPhone only) as well as access to your online Frenzic account. You can set up an account even if you only have the iPhone version to upload your scores and track your ranking.I do have two complaints about this program and the are what is keeping me from giving it a 5* rating. First is the fact that you are unable to listen to your own music through the iPod app while playing the game. If you're listening to something and launch the Frenzic app, your music fades out and the Frenzic's audio overrides it.Secondly, while I feel the game is a worthwhile purchase and would recommend it, it seems a bit pricey at $4.99 compared to the other games out there now that I enjoy (Bejeweled is $2.99, Wurdle is $1.99, etc.).One last desired feature in an update would be to have the option to use other color schemes similar to how the Mac OS X version seemingly does.Overall: a fun, addictive game that looks good, plays well and works smoothly on the iPhone.

Very enjoyable game. Much better than the web app!   After playing Frenzic since yesterday, changing my rating from 4 to 5! Definitely a 5 star app! Very good graphics and sound. Game is well laid out and plays very well (the web app demo was never responsive enough, this native game has no lag issues at all!)Responds well to phone calls (pauses) and zero issues with crashing.I'm enjoying this quite a bit.Nice job icon factory!R

Addiction thy name is FRENZIC   I've been a huge fan of Frenzic since it first was launched and even tho I'm not one of the high scorers I really enjoy this game. I had played the web app version for a while but the network at work caused that to slag a bit so this is the perfect fix. Thanks for making such a cool game!

Fantastic game   I'm updating this review based on the 1.0.1 update, which fixes a bug that originally caused me to subtract a star from my score. Now that it's fixed this is desering of 5 stars. Even weeks later, I still play this game regularly. I played Frenzic for a while on the Mac, but felt the game play was hampered by the need for precise mouse control. The iPhone touchscreen eliminates this drawback and in the process takes Frenzic from a great concept to one of the best puzzle games ever. Like all the great puzzle games, the key to Frenzic is simple game rules that generate deep gameplay. Frenzic not only rewards thoughtful players who work on strategy but also quick reflexes. That said, if you aren't interested in devoting some time to learning a game and improving your score, this game may not be for you.

Fantastic game   Frenzic is a fantastic game. It's simplicity reminds me of Tetris, and it's similarly addictive. Enough with the flight simulators and racing games, give me a ingenious puzzle with flashing lights and funny sounds any day.
Frenzic is executed extremely well, every game-play detail and pixel seems like it has been lovingly rubbed to a show-room finish. Bravo.
Earned a place on my home screen.

Very Good Game   I've been a Frenzic player for about a year now and have always thought it would be the best game ever if it were for iPhone. No longer do we need a mouse to play this game. This interface and game is actually BETTER than the desktop version of Frenzic! Well thought out, great sound, great effects, and great options. Very addictive, the score boards are a great feature, and the developers are amazing people. Definitely a must buy app!

More frustrating than fun   I really want to love this game. It has the appearance of a great game, it looks great, but the gameplay is just not that much fun. It's more frustrating than fun. Seems you always get strings of the same pie piece with no place to put them, which whittles away your precious lives, reducing the experience to one based more on luck than any strategy. There also needs to be an additional mode to the game with which players don't feel like they are always just 3 seconds away from losing. Please developers, allow me to have fun with this game, I really, really want to love it.

Killer App   Frenzic is easy to learn, difficult to master and highly addictive. Keeping track of position, color, time, and placement is disarmingly soothing in the beginning. The pace quickens almost imperceptibly. You begin making small but irritating errors and your brow starts to furrow as you struggle against the ever quickening timer. You power on with greater intensity and focus, squinting your eyes as if to force new areas of your brain to kick in and help. As the game nears the inevitable but merciful conclusion, you become acutely aware of your warming skull as every available neuron discharges in a flurry of electrical futility. Relentlessly, the game descends into chaos, overwhelming your ability to mentally juggle so many variables at once. Your strategy disintegrates into a shameful frenzy of random tapping. The game is genius and playing it is a rewarding experience.

I can't believe it.   This game really surprised me. I played it for mac about a year ago and found the concept interesting but I did not continue to play it. When I found out that it came to the iPhone/iPod I figured that it would be a fun game to play every once in a while. But when I bought it I was surprised to find an extremely interesting game that hasedtremely polished control. Add the wonderful highscores tables and you have a real winner of an app.

Love the game but crashes too often   This game rocks. It's very addicting and very fun. Unfortunately it crashes way too often. I hope the developers release an update soon to fix these bugs so I can give this app the 5 stars that it deserves.

The Perfect iPhone/iPod touch Game   I agree with the other posters that ever since it debuted on the Mac, this game has cried out for a touch interface, and the iPhone/iPod touch version is absolutely a winner! With sharp, cool graphics, satisfying sound (and nice use of vibration when appropriate), and insidiously simple gameplay, everything just 'feels' right about this game. It's great for a quick moment, or for a long, intense session -- but beware, it is *highly* addictive. This app goes the extra mile, though: it employs Location Services to tell you how your score matches up with other players nearby, and features a smooth online global scoreboard, with effortless registration. These features only make the game even more addictive! :)If you like fast-paced games that are still simple and approachable, you'll love being sucked in by Frenzic. It's one of the most natural feeling iPhone/iPod touch games ever devised! :)

Just like the desktop version   I used to be addicted to this game on my desktop, then when it came out as a webapp, I got addicted to playing it online, but I never actually paid for the game. When I found out that this game is was a native iPhone app, I was hesitant to purchase it because I thought I was over it. I forgot how interesting this game is though and am finding myself wasting life away again. I love it, but it's addicting. The online high scores make things very competetive. Local high scores give me something to work towards without having to be a master of the game and compare my high scores to people across the globe. It's like the minor leagues of the high score world

Best Game I've Bought   I played the Frenzic demo on my Mac, but could never pull the trigger on buying it. When I saw it was available for my iPhone, I immediately purchased it. The gameplay is fun on either platform, but it seems truly perfect for a touchscreen. None of the (small) frustrations about mousing errors from the desktop version. It's very easy to learn, and it is quite addictive. The gameplay is fast and a whole lot of fun. Highly recommended!
