Pedometer - Western ITS Limited
Pedometer uses the accelerometers of your iPhone/iPod Touch along with complex mathematical algorithms (using US Army calculations) to calculate the steps you take whether you're walking, jogging or running. It will also calculate the number of calories you have burnt.
Pedometer uses a simple interface which has been carefully designed and colored in order for the user to understand it at a glance during motion.
The application allows you to set a target and keep a diary to achieve your goal.

Miles/Distance It does work very well overall, and seems quite easy (you can input height weight etc and uses a formula to give you your calories burned). A pretty big drawback is this app really does needs to show miles or distance walked/jogged/ran. So if you want to find distance that you walked etc. that then I would suggest another app.

Where is the support??? This App has all the tools that its competitor does not have. The other "pedometer" does not have the ability to "Pause" and "Reset". You are also able to adjust your speed, based on each individual build. Two places to adjust sensitivity both in settings and on the move. Can lock the screen so that you don't push a button putting in the pocket. Still testing accuracy...want to use for 5 consec days before judging this. Overall...far superior to the other App with the same name. Reason for 3 stars....The website links do NOT support this App...they go to Western Its.com which is a web design company. I searched every single page and link and there is no mention of an App, Apple or the iPhone...No help/support with the links provided. When/If this changes then I will change my Rating to a 4 or 5 depending on my accuracy tests.

not what I wanted As previous reviewers have noted, one can turn on the app and walk, but it stops running if the phone is put to sleep or if any other function of the phone is used.So one can turn it on, go for a walk, and count the steps.But one cannot leave it running in the background and check at the end of the day to see if a target count like 10,000 steps was reached, which was my hope, and which is the way a good $10 pedometer functions.

Good but MUST stay active when iPhone is locked!! It kills me that this currently decent app doesn't continue to count when the iphone is locked. Needs a major update in that regard. Otherwise lots of potential.

As Promised! Includes essential features, but retains simplicity. I have only checked out the "Walking" mode. My next " step" is to delete a less satisfactory APP that I purchased for the same price last week. Now I have one less device ( pedometer ) to keep track of. Go iPhone!

Excellent App! This app is great! Takes a while to adjust the sensitivity to the right setting basednon how you walk/jog/run.
I contact their support on adding thing and their reply was that they have submitted to apple to review. They fixed their app to continue to run while you phone is on lock mode. Sorry can't run in background while using other apps. Also they are adding how much distance you have traveled.
I look forward to the improvements!

Not really a pedometer Doesn't tell you how far you've gone, only how many steps you've taken and how many calories you've burned. So far I'm not convinced it does that very well. This morning I went for a 2.5 mile walk and it said I'd taken 83 steps and burned 3.5 calories. Somethings not right. Perhaps I can fix this with the sensitivity setting?

I love it! This is a great program! I purchased the other pedometer first...and had very little success. This one allows you to adjust sensitivity which is great. When I'm at work I put this thing to work to track my calories I burn each day. Oh! that's another thing I like you can set a goal for how many calories you want to burn and you can watch yourself inch toward the goal through out the day. I set a goal of 100 calories and go about half way there. I think you'll like it!

Works great Well, here goes my first review.
I read about the other pedometers, and this one showed more promise. Luckily I was right. I've only used walk but it is both accurate and fun. Great at a glance visuals as advertised. Best of it's kind.

Needs to count when not on! The program is great, but lousy for a working environment where you walk around a lot. I haven't figured a way to make the program collect steps unless it's on the screen. Definitely a deal breaker for me.

Not bad Lots of potential. Definately needs to work while in sleep mode, but having it on while I run is okay for now. I'd like to see the ability to have individual sensitivity settings for walk, jog, and run.

Not very good This app is great if you never take more than 133 steps. So far that is the maximum count it has given me. Wasted over an hour calibrating it to 102 steps in 100 actual steps; the slider used for calibration is terrible should have a better control for this feature. Each attempt at using after calibration has resulted in exactly 133 steps. No help whatsoever on the website.

run in background please Needs update to allow app to run in background and to add total distance covered. If I put sensitivity at the highest level, app was pretty accurate. Would highly recommend with the few additions on an update,

problem with log/diary after about 15 log entries the log itself is not readable because of the text overlapping previous entries? Other than that problem it seems to work as good as any other I've used.

Doesn't work It works as far as you hold and let it run this app in foreground. When iphone locks in 1 minute..this doesn't seem to work..Hope they will make it better.I wudn't recommend
